Besides the fact that according to some research of NASA, Ravnogor and its surrounding area of 40 km is the region with ecologically the purest air on the Balkan peninsula, the village can boast with its numerous natural and cultural places of interest.
The most representative peaks in the area are:
- Sandjak – 1879 m above sea level.
- Sveta Nedelia /St. Nedelia/ – 1578 m above sea level (its shape resembles a bundle of hay).
- Sveta Elena /St. Elena/ (here is a chapel with the same name).
- Sveti Ilija /St. Ilija/ (at the foot of the peak there is also a chapel with the same name).
- Bekovi skali /’Bekovi rocks’/ – 1473 m above sea level (you can see a unique view of the artificial lake Vucha).
- Mangashli – 1638 m above sea level.
- Kamenik – 1641 m above sea level.
Alongside of the village like a snake meanders the Ravnogor river, which meets the dairy and the brandy making workshop. In the lowland of river Pavlitza is located the Ravnogor cave called ‘Dupkata’ /literary meaning ‘The hole’/.
Another landmark is ‘Chervenata skala’ (‘The red rock’). The legend about that rock is that a lass jumped off the 100 m high rock in order to evade some Turks chasing her. Just next to it are the Thracian mounds, where a gold medallion was found.
In close proximity to the village you can see remains of an old Roman road which used to connect the ancient Filipopolus across Krichim and Zhrebichko with the fortress above the village of Fotinovo.
Other places of interest are the Christian cross welcoming everyone in the village, the church ‘St. Peter and Paul’, the chapels ‘St. Ilija’, ‘St Elena’, the community centre ’23rd of April 1876’ and the monuments, which the village has treasured.
The tourists can visit the place called ‘Uzunovoto’, where the cold water is caught in fountains and the conditions are wonderful for organizing a picnic. As for the fans of hunting they are capable of seeing bears, foxes, wild boars, rabbits, hinds, deer, partridges and lots of others wild animals.
For the lovers of winter sports a ski slope is set up.
